Popular Dancehall artiste Lisa Hyper, born Felicia Gooden, was arrested on Tuesday night at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. Reports indicate that she arrived at the airport with luggage, intending to leave the island despite not having a plane ticket.
During a social media livestream, Lisa Hyper spoke about her travel plans and mentioned visiting the U.S. and meeting one of her partners. While at the airport, she engaged in a heated exchange with staff and later made controversial statements referencing Gaza Nation.
Authorities eventually intervened, instructing her to leave as being at the airport without a ticket is an offense. However, she refused, leading to a confrontation with both police officers and airport staff. She was given multiple warnings before being placed in handcuffs and taken into custody at the Norman Manley International Airport Police Station.
Her arrest was captured live on social media before the stream ended. Further details on the incident are yet to be released.
