On Tuesday, Cushane Damiah Carter, also known as YouTuber CMR, appeared in court for the first time after being arrested and charged over the weekend. In a five-minute video from the courtroom, Carter interacted with the judge, who provided several instructions for his release conditions.
The prosecution initially pushed for Carter to be held without bail, but the judge dismissed this request and instead set a $7,500 bond. During the hearing, Carter answered questions about his finances and was informed of specific restrictions.
Notably, the judge ordered Carter to avoid any contact, direct or indirect, with the alleged victim and barred him from returning to the residence where the victim resides. Carter was permitted to return to the property once, under police supervision, to collect his belongings.
In a strict warning, the judge emphasized that Carter would not be allowed to live with the child, asking if he understood the conditions, to which Carter confirmed.
Earlier reports revealed that Carter faces a charge of “lewd and lascivious molestation” of a minor aged 12 to 15. Although now out on bond, Carter has yet to publicly address the case.
