A Long Beach, California neighborhood was rocked by a sudden explosion in a backyard accessory dwelling unit, leaving one man seriously injured.
The incident, caught on surveillance video, occurred on Monday, sending debris flying across the property and beyond.
The small structure, often referred to as a "granny flat," was obliterated, with fragments damaging nearby homes and cars.
The blast was so powerful that residents blocks away felt the shockwave, and it even knocked out power in the surrounding area.
Witnesses rushed to the scene, describing a man in his late 30s emerging from the wreckage with severe burns. He was immediately taken to a trauma center for treatment, though his condition remains unknown.
