According to the footage, officers arrived on the scene to find Montazer crouched over his mother, 72-year-old Parvin Montazer, on the sidewalk. One officer can be heard alerting dispatch that the man was actively stabbing the woman.

Despite repeated commands to drop the knife, Montazer refused to comply and eventually charged at one of the officers. At this point, the officer fired multiple shots, killing him.

The situation reportedly began with an argument between Paul and his mother, which escalated when he chased her into the street with a knife. A neighbor who witnessed the attack called 911 and mentioned that a Good Samaritan had tried to intervene but was chased away.

Sadly, both Paul and Parvin Montazer were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
