Police Fatally Shoot Armed Suspect Inside Colorado Walmart

Earlier this month, a Walmart in Colorado Springs became the scene of a dramatic police encounter that ended with the fatal shooting of a suspect. Police body cam footage, recently released by the Colorado Springs Police Department, captured the intense moments.

Officers had spotted a stolen car in the parking lot and confronted two individuals leaving the store. One of the suspects, 29-year-old Tyler Ben, initially backed away from police after they ordered him to raise his hands.

As Ben appeared to reach into his waistband for what looked like a weapon, an officer opened fire, striking him multiple times. Despite efforts to provide medical aid, Ben was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman accompanying Ben immediately complied with police commands and was not injured. After being interviewed by authorities, she was released.

The incident is under review as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
