Sean "Diddy" Combs has just been handed a massive legal loss. A judge awarded $100 million in a default judgment to Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, who accused the music mogul of drugging and sexually assaulting him at a Detroit party back in 1997.
Cardello-Smith, currently serving time in prison, filed the lawsuit claiming that during the party, he and Diddy were drinking and smoking weed with several women.
He alleges that while engaging with a woman, he felt a man’s hand on his body, which he claims was Diddy's. Later, Cardello-Smith says he was given a spiked drink by Diddy, which caused him to lose consciousness.
When he woke up, he says he saw Diddy having sex with a woman and heard him say, “I did this to you too.” Cardello-Smith sued for $100 million, but Diddy never responded to the lawsuit. As a result, the judge ruled in favor of Cardello-Smith, ordering Diddy to make monthly payments of $10 million starting October 1.
While questions about the statute of limitations remain unclear, Diddy's failure to address the case led to this significant financial penalty.
