This past weekend, tragedy struck the family of boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. His son, DeAndre, passed away by suicide, TMZ Sports has reported. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Jones Jr. himself on Monday.
In a heartfelt statement, the 55-year-old former world champion shared, "Unfortunately, my son DeAndre took his life on Saturday." Jones Jr. revealed that he had spent the night before DeAndre's passing with him, expressing gratitude for that final opportunity to be together. "I'm so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family," he said.

Addressing the broader issue of mental health struggles, Jones Jr. urged people to hold on through tough times. "I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life," he continued. "God gives it and God should be the one to take it away."
