In a heartbreaking incident in Hidalgo, Mexico, a young woman lost her life while attempting to take a photo near a passing train. The 29-year-old was struck and killed by the CPKC's Final Spike Steam Tour train as it sped down the tracks.

The tragic event was captured in a harrowing video that has since surfaced. The footage shows the woman approaching the railway track to snap a selfie as the historic train approached at full speed. Despite the train's horn blaring to alert the crowd of fans who had gathered to witness the train's journey from Canada to Mexico City, she did not move far enough from the track and was hit in the head.

Immediately after being struck, the woman fell forward and went limp, clearly unconscious. Bystanders rushed to her aid, but unfortunately, the injuries were fatal. CPKC has since confirmed that an investigation is underway. The company released a statement expressing their deep sorrow over the incident and extending their condolences to the woman's family and loved ones.

They emphasized the importance of safety around trains, advising all spectators to stay at least 10 meters away from the tracks. They also urged people never to stand on railway tracks, try to board rail equipment, or climb on rail infrastructure.

"Always use caution around tracks and trains," CPKC stated, highlighting the critical need for safety measures when near railway lines.
