Gypsy Rose Blanchard Files Lawsuit Against Blogger for Defamation and Fraud

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is taking a stand against a blogger she accuses of defaming her and her family after a failed business partnership. Blanchard, who was recently released from prison, has filed a lawsuit against April Johns, who allegedly introduced herself as Franchesca Macelli when they first connected in 2017. The lawsuit includes claims of fraud, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, defamation, and portraying Blanchard in a false light.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Blanchard alleges that shortly after her incarceration for her involvement in her mother Dee Dee's murder, she and her father and stepmother, Rod and Kristy Blanchard, were approached by Macelli.

Macelli proposed a media partnership that would tell Gypsy's story and generate significant income. Trusting Macelli, Gypsy signed a life rights agreement and shared extensive personal information and materials over two years.

Blanchard claims that despite providing Macelli with medical records and crime scene photos, no projects materialized. When Gypsy and her family eventually cut ties with her, Macelli allegedly launched an online smear campaign, spreading false stories and leaking confidential information. This campaign, according to Gypsy, included sharing her medical records and suggesting she was misleading the public.

Blanchard contends that Macelli's actions have damaged her reputation, prompting her to seek an emergency restraining order to prevent Macelli from continuing to mention her or her case online. A hearing regarding this restraining order is scheduled for this week.
