Nicki Minaj Detained in Amsterdam: European Tour Faces Unexpected Delay

Nicki Minaj's travel plans took an unexpected turn when she was detained by authorities in Amsterdam en route to the UK. The rapper, who is currently on her "Pink Friday 2" European tour, live-streamed the incident on Saturday, giving fans a firsthand look at her encounter with the police.

The live stream begins with a police officer informing Minaj that she needs to accompany them to a precinct. Clearly confused and concerned, Nicki repeatedly asks for the police station's address and the reason behind her detainment. One officer reassures her that their goal is to ensure she makes it to her next show on time, but then states she is under arrest.

Despite the officers' requests for her to stop filming and enter their vehicle, Nicki insists on speaking with her lawyer and continues to record. Ultimately, she complies and gets into the police van on her own, without being handcuffed.

Robert Kapel, a spokesperson for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee military police, confirmed to TMZ that an American woman was arrested for possessing "soft drugs," such as marijuana. While Kapel did not name the individual or specify the drugs, the scenario matches Minaj's situation.

In another video posted by Minaj, an airport employee can be seen explaining that her bags needed to be thoroughly searched, apologizing for the inconvenience caused.

Nicki also took to Twitter to update her followers. She mentioned that the police claimed to have found weed in her luggage, but her security team had already informed the officers that the weed belonged to them.

Minaj performed in Amsterdam the previous night and was scheduled to perform in Manchester, England, with doors opening at 7:00 PM local time. Despite the hiccup, the venue remains hopeful that she will make it in time for the show.
