Logan Paul is taking on Ryan Garcia, but not in the boxing ring—this battle is happening in court. The WWE Superstar's Prime Hydration has filed a defamation lawsuit against the boxer.
Logan Paul expressed his frustration on social media, claiming his drink company is "under attack" by false narratives circulating online. He announced that it was time to take action, with Garcia being the first target. "Today we begin to hold those accountable who’ve damaged our brand for attention while we correct the narrative," Paul said on Instagram. "We're here to stay and will continue to change the world of hydration with bold flavors and creative innovation 📈."
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, Prime accuses Garcia of spreading false information about the drink on social media. Garcia allegedly claimed that Prime would "kill your guys's brains," "mess up your guys's liver," and "hurt you big time," among other harmful effects, without providing evidence to support these statements.
Prime asserts that Garcia’s posts are damaging the company's business. Garcia allegedly linked the company to the devil and accused its employees of heinous crimes. The lawsuit also highlights Garcia's claim that Prime contains "ostarine," a banned substance he tested positive for during his fight with Devin Haney, a Prime-sponsored athlete.
The lawsuit contends that Garcia knows his claims are false but is making them to promote his own brand through controversy. Prime is suing Garcia for defamation, trade libel, violations of the Lanham Act, unfair competition, and unjust enrichment.
Logan Paul's Prime has quickly risen in popularity, securing sponsorships with big names like Patrick Mahomes, Terence Crawford, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers, and Erling Haaland.
