Cassie's Legal Team Slams Diddy's Apology, Calling It Hypocritical

Cassie's legal team is vocally criticizing Diddy's recent apology concerning the leaked 2016 video showing him assaulting her, labeling it as hypocritical and misleading. According to TMZ, one of Cassie's attorneys, Meredith Firetog, released a statement on Sunday asserting that Diddy's apology was more self-serving than a genuine attempt to acknowledge the harm he has caused.

Firetog emphasized that when Cassie and other women initially came forward with accusations, Diddy not only denied the allegations but also suggested that his accusers were merely looking for financial gain. This statement refers to Diddy's firm denial in December, following another lawsuit from a different accuser after Cassie's allegations surfaced. At that time, Diddy said, "Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth."

Now, Firetog argues that Diddy's recent apology appears hollow, stating, "That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words."

In the apology video, Diddy acknowledged that he was at rock bottom during the time of the incident and mentioned seeking professional help through therapy and rehab to address his issues. He claimed he was not offering excuses and expressed disgust with himself, stating he is working on becoming a better person daily. He emphasized that he isn't seeking forgiveness but is genuinely sorry.

As everyone knows, Cassie's lawsuit against Diddy included multiple accusations, which he denied when the suit was initially filed in November. The lawsuit was settled almost immediately. Despite the 2016 incident, Diddy and Cassie continued their relationship for some time afterward.

Currently, Diddy is the focus of a federal investigation, which he has described as a witch hunt. Regarding the 2016 incident, authorities in Los Angeles have stated they are not opening a case.
