Two Children Killed and Multiple Injured at Birthday Party Accident

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a child's birthday celebration at a boat club in Newport, Michigan, turned into a scene of tragedy on Saturday. An 8-year-old girl and her 5-year-old brother lost their lives, while at least nine others suffered serious injuries, during a horrific accident that shocked the community.


Authorities revealed that a 66-year-old woman, allegedly driving under the influence, crashed her vehicle into the building where the birthday party was in full swing. The vehicle penetrated about 25 feet into the structure before coming to a halt, leaving devastation in its wake.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, providing first-aid to the victims. Nine individuals required immediate transportation to hospitals via ambulance or helicopter, while others sought medical attention independently. Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough, visibly moved by the severity of the situation, addressed the media during a press conference, describing the injuries as "serious" and "life-threatening."
